I don’t understand The Bible well enough yet to make sense of Romans:13 and its support of the government, kings and taxes. If the Christians who founded this nation (among the Masons and Deists) believed The Bible to be the inerrant Word of God then how did they reconcile this passage with their rebellion to The British Crown?

Having been an atheist for most of my life, then pretty “New Agey” in my college years and now a believer in a singular, conscious, Creator God and a believer in, and follower of, Christ (the title “Christian” doesn’t really work for me, too many “Christians” don’t behave similarly to what I know of Christ) I’m new to The Bible–maybe one of you readers can help with this?
