Nice work Mr. Stossel.

I heart Stossel

Great episode! From privacy rights to cell phone cameras than can now stream live video to the web (www.qik.com) and be used to protect We The People from government or law enforcement tyranny, Stossel rocks another episode.

John Stossel, Ron Paul and the rEVOLution of libertarian freedom

Are libertarians naive idealists who live in a dream world inspired by lofty dreams of well-meaning people spontaneously cooperating and making money doing whatever they so choose with their available resources?

I ask you: should government be our saving grace and protecting enforcer from the evils of individuals exercising their freedoms and organizing into groups and corporate bodies to create systems of generating the wicked substance known as money?

Or is it possible to imagine a world without The IRS, The TSA, and The Federal Reserve?

What might happen? How might you benefit?

With a government shutdown looming, over $14.5T in national debt, and an unsteady global empire; perhaps we should ponder the form of government we may someday be called to create.

I have to say I am impressed with this show while being totally confused by it being on Russia Today.

Have the ruskies become more anti-government than us?

I know that The KGB still runs the show–so how can this totally Libertarian show end up on TV? Keep your eyes out for an ulterior motive in this, thus far it checks out for me.

Here’s Stefan’s funny reaction to show too.

Gun Control, Protection or Problem?

Intelligent, highly evolved people are more advanced than guns right?

And given the violent nature of people more guns will equal more crime right?

Given these obvious facts, the statstics surely backup these claims!

Well, not exactly…

In the attached video John Stossel cites a US National Academy of Sciences study that failed to find a single gun regulation that reduced violent crime.

He also interviews criminals who are scared of gun-carrying citizens and will carry guns no matter how tight of a regulation is imposed.

I have to admit I once had enough pride and ego to lump myself into the “I’m too advanced for guns” group.  For some reason, I thought that I was beyond the need for gun and that they violated my higher principles of peace.  In time I discovered that although Jesus walked on water, I still better take swimming lessons because I–and society–aren’t quite there yet!

Even if you’re an advocate for the supposedly peaceful tranquility (and abject lack of freedom) of a totalitarian police state that outlaws all guns, criminals will carry black market guns and you will have to protect yourself.

Of course, after 2012 we’ll all be so highly evolved that guns won’t be necessary, we’ll have telepathy and fly around the world with just the power of our minds. Until then I’ll keep my trigger finger ready should trouble come knocking.

“Among the many misdeeds of British rule in India, history will look upon the Act depriving a whole nation of arms as the blackest.” Gandhi

“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed – unlike the citizens of other countries whose governments are afraid to trust the people with arms.” James Madison, The Federalist Papers

“The people of the various provinces are strictly forbidden to have in their possession any swords, short swords, bows, spears, firearms, or other types of arms. The possession of unnecessary implements makes difficult the collection of taxes and dues and tends to foment uprisings.” Toyotomi Hideyoshi, dictator of Japan, August 1588

“Every Communist must grasp the truth, ‘Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.’” Mao Tse-tung, 1938

Old Mao simultaneously endorses the 2nd Amendment and shows the truth of communist thinking–it is not eloquent and pure-hearted intention for prosperity, it is force.
